A thick-shelled reptilian creature that dwells within mountains and mine shafts.\nShaleshells deliberately accumulate rocks upon their carapaces, not only to make their shells more resilient, but also to create an exaggerated silhouette with which to frighten off would-be attackers. Rocks, however, are ultimately not a part of their bodies, and many Shaleshells have been known to pile on so much stone that they can no longer move at all. Perhaps one might call that a burden of their own making.
